Interesting things happen to me. Why?

I enjoy watching and listening to Christian comedian Chonda Pierce on YouTube.  Some time back she did a piece about interesting things that happen to her.  I, too, have interesting things happen to me.

We were sitting in the parking lot of our local Kroger store waiting for our prescriptions to be ready for us.  Well, I guess I better start off with this: I've been sick with the flu for the past week.  I'm starting to get over it, but I'm not well by any means.  At any rate, we were sitting in the car waiting for our prescriptions to be ready.  They had told us it would be about 10 more minutes.  I've been drinking water like it is the best flavor drink on the market hoping to wash this mess out of my system.  So we were sitting in the car and I decided to take a little drink from my bottle of water.  Just as the water entered my mouth I began to cough.  But I had a mouthful of water and I was sitting in the car.  I didn't want to spit it all over the dash, so I tried to open the door.  In the mean time I needed to get a breath of air.  I was coughing, trying to breath and trying not to spew my water all over the car all the while trying to get the car door open.  I finally did get the door open and get most of the water out of my mouth, but the need for air overcame my need to expel the water and I tried to take a breath.  I COULDN'T DO IT!  Here I am drowning in a little bit of water.  I couldn't get a breath, couldn't get rid of the water, and I started to see stars.  Finally I was able to get out of the car and stand up next to the car and get myself together.  I was sure I was headed home in a box.  It was pretty scary!  Scared my princess-bride too!

Finally I got back into the car, but again experienced a moment that I could not get a breath and had to get out of the car again.  It seemed I could breath if I was standing, but not so well if I was sitting.

Over the past week I haven't slept much.  Monday night - no sleep.  Tuesday night - about 1 hour.  Wednesday night - about 3 hours.  Thursday night - 3 hours.  Friday night - 4 hours.  You get the picture.

Friday morning at some point between asleep and awake I had a little visit from my in-laws.  They are both deceased, so it was a little unusual.  Things happen to me in that nether existence fairly frequently.  I saw my in-laws in a group of people.  They turned to me and said rather sternly, "Don't you dare come home before Zelpha!"  I was a little shocked. I have had no plan to leave this life anytime soon, so I'm a little unsure what that was about.  I wonder if I'm doing something that is compromising my life.  This experience lets me know that those who have passed on really are aware of us and are interested in our goings on.  I'll have to re-examine the stuff I am doing and see if I've missed something.

I am overcoming my illness.  This version is pretty serious.  The coughing is heavy and hard.  Catching breath is hard.  I had a 102 degree fever for several days.  The headaches are incapacitating.  Sleeping appears to be optional.  But, I am better than yesterday, but not as good as I will be tomorrow.

Even after all of this:  Heavenly Father is still there. Jesus is still the Christ.  Russell M. Nelson is still the prophet.  The Book of Mormon is still correct in both doctrine and history.  Joseph Smith is still at the head of this dispensation.  My faith is not shaken.
