Missionary Minutes

We've done a few things differently during this past week.  I thought you might be interested in knowing what we've been up to. Over the past few months, we have been attempting to contact members of the Jacinto City Ward (Spanish) who have become inactive or partially active.  However, we have been largely unable to speak with them.  Either they have moved or won't answer the door for a variety of reasons.  Some are ashamed of what they've been up to or think they are not worthy to come to church. We have decided to alter our approach a little to see if we can encourage our ward members to soften their hearts and become active participants again in the Lord's church.  This week we mailed 68 cards introducing ourselves and inviting each family to return to church.  We will do mailings every month.  We hope it will be an influence for re-activity. Mile Markers

In our lives we establish mile markers.  For example, in my own life I set these mile markers to help me to find my way along. 1.  Birth - That one was established by my parents. 2.  Kindergarten.  I wanted so badly to start school that I followed my next older sister to school only to be taken back home again.  I was so disappointed.  I'm not sure my Kindergarten teacher was all that glad to have me, though. 3.  High School Graduation.  I enjoyed going to school.  I wasn't a particularly good student, but it gave me the opportunity to learn to love music and history along with the socializing that goes on in High School.  4.  Missionary service.  I had been looking forward to serving as a missionary from the time I was 4 years old.  When the time finally arrived, I was anxious to go. 5.  Marriage.  Shortly after arriving home from my mission I began dating my Princess Bride.  She was and is the pe...
