Time Flies When You're Having Fun

We are having a marvelous experience here in the Jacinto City Ward of the Summerwood Texas Stake, and of course in THE mission.  Last Thursday we attended the first class of the Spanish Language Institute program.  The teacher is Brother Briggs, but he asked me to substitute for him for tonight's class.  What a wonderful experience.  More on that later. On Friday we went to the the temple to help with the "Friends meet Family" program at the temple.  It is when new members and returning members can use limited recommends to enter the temple and do baptisms for the dead.  It is such a wonderful experience for them and for us.  I was privileged to serve in the confirmation room because we do both Spanish and English ordinances there.  There are only two of us Senior Missionaries who speak both languages.  So I spent 2 hours working in the confirmation room and then doing recording at the font while the other bi-lingual Senior Missionary ser...

Rain, Rain, Rain and more

We've had rain nearly every day this week.  The fields and vacant lots are complete with green lush weeds that need to be mowed, but none of it is the brown we're used to in Southern Utah.  It is still pretty hot and humid in Houston, but we know that will last until October or so. Sister Black has been ill. She was able to take care of her chores on Sunday, but not much else until today. Today we went to the temple and were proxy for many brides and grooms as they were sealed together for time and eternity.  5 of those couples were from my own family lines, but there were many that were not.  We were also proxy for 10 boys and 10 girls to be sealed to their parents.  The boys were from my lines, and the girls were from Sister Black's lines.  We also assisted other boys and girls to be sealed to their parents.  We've had a good day.
