Rain, Rain, Rain and more

We've had rain nearly every day this week.  The fields and vacant lots are complete with green lush weeds that need to be mowed, but none of it is the brown we're used to in Southern Utah.  It is still pretty hot and humid in Houston, but we know that will last until October or so.

Sister Black has been ill. She was able to take care of her chores on Sunday, but not much else until today.

Today we went to the temple and were proxy for many brides and grooms as they were sealed together for time and eternity.  5 of those couples were from my own family lines, but there were many that were not.  We were also proxy for 10 boys and 10 girls to be sealed to their parents.  The boys were from my lines, and the girls were from Sister Black's lines.  We also assisted other boys and girls to be sealed to their parents.  We've had a good day.

On Sunday we were asked to assist the Channelview Ward in their "Dia de la Patria".  Bishop Cárdenas asked if we (the full-time missionaries) would sing a song relative to the history of the United States.  This will be on Sept 13.  We haven't yet set on a song for this, but we're thinking of "America, the Beautiful" if we can find music.

Friday is "Faith meets Family" for new and returning members at the Houston Texas Temple.  It is always an emotional and spiritual evening in the Baptistry.

This coming Saturday is the Jacinto City Ward's "Dia de la Patria", but we haven't been asked to participate other than to come and enjoy.

Remember to pray for those affected by Hurricane Dorian.  The  devastation left in its path is pretty bad.

Back next week.
