Life According to Me

I love my life.  Sometimes, however, my life is more interesting than others.  I spent most of last week with what I thought was a severe cold.  Coughing, sneezing, sore throat, runny nose, and all.  The only thing is...there was no fever.  Pretty weird.  I began to wonder if I was having allergic reactions to something.  Well....it turns out that we had the highest pollen counts ever recorded over the last two weeks.  My allergy medicine was not keeping up.

At the same time, my INR count skyrocketed.  INR measure how thick my blood is.  The higher it is the thinner it becomes.  I try to keep it between 2 and 3 (I have no idea what, exactly, is being measured, but it scores the ability of my blood to clot.) I like it to be around 2.8.   But.....two weeks ago it was 3.2 and last week it was 3.5.  I've been reducing the medicine I take too.  Life and it's little twists and turns is pretty interesting.

Yesterday, Sunday, April 14, we attended a production of Rob Gardner's "The Lamb of God".  It was done by an interfaith choir and orchestra in our own stake center. There were about 60 voices in the choir and about 20 or so instruments in the orchestra (perhaps more instruments.  We couldn't see them all.)  There were several vocal soloists.

This production portrays the life of Jesus Christ in music and some narration. We were taken back to experience Jesus' birth, His 12 year-old experience in the temple, His baptism by John the Baptist, and His many miracles.  We went with him to the Garden of Gethsemane, we experienced His betrayal by Judas Iscariot, we were shown the trials He went through, we heard Him lifted onto the cross, we felt His anguish as His Father left him alone, we understood as He gave His life for us. We reveled in His resurrection.  We marveled at his visit to His disciples, We heard Thomas as he doubted and then saw the Lord himself.

The whole production was WONDERFUL.  The spirit was exceedingly strong there.  My eyes ran over several times during the production.

I testify that Jesus Christ lives.  I know that it is true.  I know that His own Father was there with Him through most of his earthly life.  I know that He was taught by His own Father to be the man He became.

I love my Lord, Jesus Christ.  I revere Him.  I have had too many experiences in my life that confirm my understanding.  I know that I have been sent to this world at this time for a purpose.  While I am not perfect, I strive to be more like my Savior.

I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is that of service.  It is helping others to find themselves as children of God.  I know that the work we do in the Temples of the Lord is necessary for those who were born, lived, and died without knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Those individuals are not to be left out just because they lived during the dark ages or lived in areas where the gospel of Jesus Christ was not accessible .  It is up to us to find them and then be sure the qualifying ordinances are done in their behalf.

The Lord said to Moses:  "This is my work and my glory, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man."  Not just for those who lived during his day.  Not just for the Jews, with whom he lived his earthly life.  But every nation, kindred, tongue, tribe and people deserve His love.

These things are true.  I testify of them in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
