I Really Do Not Enjoy Being Sick
I don't like being sick. That SHOULD be all I have to say, but it isn't.
I don't like being sick, AND I don't enjoy going to doctors who are condescending and who think I am clueless. Mostly, I guess, I miss my Utah medical team. (This means YOU, Karen Radley!)
I started with severe headache, sniffles, sneezes, mild sore throat, but no fever! We were experiencing very high pollen counts for grass, cedar/juniper, and others. Grass and Juniper are my worst allergens, so, I assumed I was having a bad allergic reaction to our environment. I called the doctors' office with whom we have established as our temporary FP to schedule an injection to help relieve the nasty sinus, and all. I was abruptly advised that their practice does not do allergy injections. Now I wonder if we chose the wrong folks. I have a scheduled appointment in a couple of weeks. We'll have a serious provider/customer fireside chat and then decide if their practice is where we need to be.
After a few days I started to cough. It became a pretty deep cough and it made me nervous, so I went to an urgent care place to see what was going on. They couldn't figure out any reason for the cough. It makes me crazy to think that all family practice doctors are not as intuitive as my favorite Utah doctor. No wonder people get discouraged with their medical issues.
It has kinda discouraged me. I haven't been able to leave our apartment for more than an hour or two for the past 10 days without coughing so hard I nearly lose consciousness. We keep the air in our apartment filtered with the best allergen filter we can find. I am still not 100% while we're inside the apartment, but much better than when we are out and about.
We have still been able to attend most of our meetings, but our in-home visits have come to a halt until I can get this under control.
The people in our ward and our young missionaries are constantly asking how I'm doing. I love that they do.
The church is still true, God still lives, Jesus is still the Christ, President Russell M. Nelson is still the Prophet. Non of those things has changed just because I have been sick. Whew!
