It Just Gets Interestinger and Interestinger
This week's blog post is late. I apologize. There were extenuating circumstances. I'll get to that eventually.
During this past week I waited anxiously for Thursday to arrive so I could get the dental work promised by the Dentist. He had examined my anchor teeth (for the bridge that came loose) and determined that I had to have a molar tooth removed, which meant I would have no molar surfaces with which to chew. Then when the socket healed we would consider an implant or a partial.
But...
When we went in to get all that started, the dentist removed the bridge and found that the anchor molar was still viable and was able to clean up both anchor teeth and reinstall the bridge. So no oral surgery after all. Whew!
However, neither Sister Black or I were on top of the world all week. We did get a little work done, but not much. We kinda felt like we let the Lord down. We have repented and have worked pretty well last night and today.
I generally post to this blog on Monday night. But, just as I was sitting down to do that last night, we got a call from our young Sister Missionaries. Their car had been towed and they needed help. This was at about 8:00 pm. We picked them up from the apartment complex where their car had been parked, and then commenced a scouring of tow companies and storage lots to find out where the car had been taken. Finally we found it, but the storage lot wouldn't release it to us without some documents we didn't have.
So, now we are at about 9:00. We called the vehicle manager, Elder Christensen, for help. We found out he could provide the documents we needed, but he couldn't do it until this morning. The sisters were 30 minutes late getting to their apartment and we didn't get home until a little after 10 pm. And you'll never guess the parking situation at our apartment. No space for us to park close to our apartment as we usually do. We had to park in the spaces for the next building down.
This meant that we needed to elevate our backs from our bed at 5:30 am, get breakfast, shower and be 20 minutes from our apartment to pick up the young missionaries at 7:45, and then be at the mission office by 8:30. We made it, but we lost some sleep.
We needed to get the car out of the storage facility before noon today or an additional storage day would be accrued. However, the mission office is 25 miles or so from the storage facility. We agreed to meet with Elder Christensen at 8:30 am, go get the documents notorized, and then head to the storage facility.
When we got to the storage facility, ready to pay the bill, we learned that they won't take a credit/debit card or a personal check. Now we are at 10:00 am looking for a bank where we can get cash. No banks are in the area. We went several miles looking for a bank thinking this is not going to be good. Chances are good that we won't make it back before noon. Then we spotted a lone tiny little bank with a drive up ATM machine and went for it.
But...the ATM wouldn't accept the missionary's bank card. And it wouldn't accept her father's credit card. So we used my personal card and motored back to the storage yard. Of course they weren't in a big hurry to get us processed. The attendant shuffled through the paper work several times. (There were only three pages. She could have memorized them in the time she took.) Then, finally, the car was released and gratefully noon had not arrived as yet.
So our day yesterday didn't end until nearly 10:30 pm and started at 5:30 am this morning. Sister Black didn't get her full beauty rest, and I spent the first few hours of "sleep" not sleeping. I do so dislike confrontation. I can do it, but I don't like it.

Wow! Glad we haven't run into that scenario.
