Doctors and Dentist and.....Oh My!

Week 7 is in the book, but....perhaps more interesting than it needed to be.

On Monday morning we had a follow up appointment with our new PCP.  Nothing new to report, Diabetes check up in 3 months.  But Monday afternoon we traveled to Beaumont to meet with our new Pain Clinic Doctor who happens to be Stake President of the Orange Texas Stake, Dr. Harris.  He appears to be a wonderful pain clinician who will work to take care of our needs.  We'll see him again in a month.

On Tuesday I noticed that I had a bridge come loose in my left jaw.  Didn't think much about it, but...on Wednesday it got so bad I thought it would fall out of my mouth.  We found a dentist that takes care of LDS missionaries as a service.  More on that later on.

We went fishing for members of the church who had kinda evaporated from view and found a wonderful lady and her family who hasn't attended for awhile, but promised she would be there yesterday to hear us speak in Sacrament Meeting.  We also found where a lost member had moved to from her previous address.  So now we've put the ball in the Elders' Quorum and Relief Society's court to find out what's going on with her.

On Wednesday we had follow-up appointments with my lung and sleep medicine doctor.  Sister Black is also using him for her sleep medicine.  All of my tests came back good. I underwent an Echo-Cardiogram previously and the report was excellent.  Estimated pressure in my Pulmonary Artery is down to 8 from the 38 that it was 5 years ago.  That being said, the Pulmonary Artery pressure noted in my angiogram done in August was 23, so I am suspect of the 8 reading done last week.

I went to see the dentist that I mentioned earlier.  He spent quite a bit of time examining my loose bridge and determined that one of the anchor teeth had decayed to the extent that it cannot be saved.  So, this Thursday we will cut the bridge and remove the decayed tooth.  That otta be just lovely.  I can hardly wait for that little bit of hilarity.  So off of my blood thinner and on with a antibiotic.

Thursday evening we went to a Stake meeting with all of the Stake Priesthood/Relief Society leaders and all full-time Missionaries for some pointed training.  I nearly stood on my pew and shouted "Hosanna!"  It was wonderful.  Bishops were given some pointed training with respect to missionary work and their support of the full-time Missionaries.  Our Bishop is actually doing pretty well, but some of the others are having some trouble accepting new directives.

On Friday we had an appointment with an inactive member who had invited us to dinner.  When we got there she asked us if we could go in and have dinner with her two sons while she went out to take care of some business.  We.......declined.  We are not permitted to be babysitters.  Sometimes I wonder what people think about.

Saturday was a down day for us.  Neither of us were feeling well AND we both needed to prepare to speak in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday.  We spent the entire day researching and preparing our comments.

On Sunday during Sacrament Meeting, Sister Black spoke for about 12 minutes and I took up what I thought was the balance of the time.  However, Bishop Fernandez  used up 10 more minutes.  We were about 10 minutes late to our next meetings.

Our mission gets interestinger and interestinger.
